Elisha and Dan, Custom House Wedding - The Barbican.
I had such an epic day with Elisha and Dan!
Three years after Elisha and Dan’s legal bit in lockdown the couple got the chance to celebrate with their family and friends at Custom House on the Barbican, Plymouth …!! Gosh! I think we can safely say that everyone made up for lost time that’s for sure! What a shindig!!
Coverage started early at a super plush apartment at The Royal William Yard. There - the VERY chilled -bridal party supped mimosas and had their hair done by the lovely Becca from Ocean Waves Hair.
Although my style is unobtrusive reportage/documentary wedding photography* there is sometimes room for some contemporary portraiture pics and with such wonderful architecture and lovely light it was certainly not an opportunity to be missed.
From the Royal William Yard we headed to Custom House for the ceremony and hand fasting with the lovely Sabine from Perfect Day Ceremonies and musical accompaniment from Dan Phelps. We even had space for some indoor confetti shots! Yay!
Grey skies, rain, and the Plymouth Seafood Festival tried to scupper our plans for some couple time. (How very dare they!). Not to be undone, we ventured out armed with a sense of adventure, an umbrella and smiles… I have to say Dan and Elisha so were wonderfully down to earth and weren’t fazed one bit - we had a fab time! And the couple got to have some time to soak up the day! (quite literally, one look at Elisha’s wedding dress and you’d see what I mean!!).
Side splitting speeches were followed by lots of dancing and Dan introducing the guests to the worst tasting drink in the world! (nope! I didn’t try it!).
The party went on into the night with great music supplied by the band ‘The Fiction’; the wedding party danced the night away in the Long Room of Custom House. Oh! And there was fish and chips from the Barbican too! What a day!!
THANKYOU SO MUCH for having me along! Big hugs, Andy xx.
*‘reportage/documentary wedding photography’ – is an emphasis on capturing things as they unfold, to tell the story of the day; it is something that steers away from being overly posed, keeping things fun, natural and relaxed.
