There are very few Devon wedding venues that can boast such stunning vistas as Mount Folly Farm - with views to Bantham, Bigbury and Burgh Island it really is magic. Furthermore, a short journey down the hill from the venue and you’re on Bigbury Beach! Close by there’s wedding accommodation with a farmhouse and camping at the top of Mount Folly Farm.

Bright blue skies, lots of sunshine, sewing bee skills, speeches with lots of laughter and the occasional tears; tales of fishing with Rob (dad), and shared stories of sailing with Jenni and Chris and a joyous and super welcoming wedding party; sometimes weddings just feel like a day out with my camera… okay; a tad more pressure… but this one really was a beautiful breeze for this Devon wedding photographer.

I met up the bridal party at an Air B n B n Modbury where Nicholas Hair and Beauty had been beavering away since the crack of dawn. After some lovely getting ready shots in sumptuous summer light we headed to the venue in lovely old classic car where a Hatch Marquee was set up with wonderful wedding décor.

Every wedding is unique… Jenni and Chris’s dogs joined them for the ceremony and Rob, Jenni’s dad, serenaded the wedding party with a turn on the mandolin. Time to chill after the confetti with canapes and fizz and sea views prior to the wedding breakfast. After speeches we headed down the hill. The tide was sweeping in and a very accommodating driver allowed us a few minutes on the sea tractor for some pics. People are often lovely and friendly to newlyweds!

From there we made use of some golden hour sunshine and the Burgh Island backdrop for some lush couple time shots. Back up the hill… and then… hold onto your hats! Time for ceilidh (pronounced ‘kay-ley – in case, like me, you’d have no idea how to say that!). Spirited is one word for it! … people love a good ceilidh and there was lots of swinging your partner and jolly cajoling! Jenni and Chris’s Bigbury Bays Weddings was such a special, poignant and fun day – I hope these pics go some way to sharing some of that experience,
